The Catchment exists to help you make better-informed decisions. It is not a substitute for the official admissions process, and it cannot tell you whether your child will get a place.

The data is historical

Catchment distances describe how far the last qualifying child lived in a given past year. They are not boundaries, and they are not predictions. Admissions criteria, intake numbers, and demand all shift year to year, so a distance that qualified last year may not next year.

It is derived from public sources

We compile our information from documents published by councils and schools. Those sources can contain mistakes, omit detail, or be withdrawn. Where we extract data with software we verify it where we can, but errors will exist. If a figure looks wrong to you, it may be — please tell us.

Always confirm with the source

Before relying on anything here for a real decision, confirm the current criteria and distances directly with the relevant council or school. If you spot an error, email hello@thecatchment.uk and we'll correct it.
